We don’t have the exact number yet, notifications letter have yet to go out. But it looks like about 40% of the incoming class will be ED. Within ED, the numbers usually break down to two thirds ED1 and one third ED2. About 60% will be regular decision.

Hello,
We always try to gauge level of interest from regular decision applicants and as an ED2 we know you are highly interested. With that said, ED2 defers do not often get admitted unless they have a sharp rise in their latest grades or if their financial aid picture becomes more clear and favorable.

It is not common for an Early Decision applicant who has been deferred to be accepted regular decision. That said, it has happened before. But again, it is not a regular occurrence.

Accepted Candidate Days are a good idea if you’re daughter would like to meet her future classmates, check out some courses, and get a feel for Saratoga Springs. They aren’t mandatory and since she’s already done some of that, she might not want to visit again. It’s totally up to you.

Early Decision Round II notifications went out on February 15, so you should hear soon! Keep your eye out and if you don’t hear within a week, call the Admissions office at 800-867-6007.

Hi there,
Early Decision Round II applicants will be notified via U.S. Postal Service in mid-February. If you’re an International Student, you should expect an e-mail around that time as well as a packet in the mail.

I do not have the official numbers yet; it has only been about a week since the application deadline, so we are still crunching those numbers. I can tell you that preliminary numbers show that we are about even with the amount of applications from last year.

Hi,
The chances of being admitted ED2 are usually better than for regular decision but typically the same as ED1 admission. So applying early provides a better chance but with no real difference between the two ED rounds. This changes from year-to-year too, based on the applicant pool and other factors, so it isn’t always a given.

Hi there,
We don’t defer a lot of ED2 applicants – probably 2 or 3 each year. It’s more common for an ED2 to be waitlisted than deferred. Most ED2 applicants will receive either an admit or deny.
