New Custom Script for Embedding Video

Video is a popular way to add depth and appeal to your website, and enhance the experience people have when visiting.  A short introduction to your program, a class presentation, a fond farewell from a retiring faculty member, a celebration of a special event… a video can really add a lot of meaning to your message.

In the past, we’ve recommended that you upload your videos to YouTube, Vimeo or another hosting site, and then use the Embed code from that site to show your video on your CMS website.  That part of the process hasn’t changed, but Liz Katzman has created a special widget which will display the videos more robustly, in preparation for some code improvements that are coming down the line.

We recommend that everyone visit their posted videos and update them to use this new custom script for display by the end of the summer.

For directions, please visit our Video FAQ page.  If you have questions or difficulty in making the change, feel free to contact Jenn Crewell (jcrewell@skidmore.edu), x8117.
