Halloween has slowly been adopted into the Spanish culture under the name Jalogüín. It still doesn’t quite look like Halloween in the states, but people still dress up! Sadly there is not much trick-o-treating that goes on. In Alcalá, there is a zombie march that happens instead. Some choose to dress up as zombies, and they go all out. The rest of the city comes to watch! We walked all the way down the main street (calle Mayor) to the main plaza (Plaza Cervantes). There were a TON of people, and with some pretty crazy makeup, and there were bands playing on the sides! Our zombie costumes did not measure up. Fun night!
