- American Farmland Trust is the only national conservation organization dedicated to protecting farmland, promoting sound farming practices, and keeping farmers on the land. Located in Saratoga Springs, AFT’s New York State office has been on the ground for over 20 years.
The intern will work closely with the Hudson Valley Farmlink Network Coordinator in various capacities during his/her internship. The Hudson Valley Farmlink Network is a partnership of 15 organizations, coordinated by American Farmland Trust, offering the Hudson Valley Farmland Finder (HVFF) website, training and networking events, and one-on-one assistance for farmers and landowners. Duties may include curating new and existing profiles created on the HVFF website, adding events and resources to the website, providing assistance and outreach to farmers and farmland owners, assisting with social media communications and helping to coordinate logistics related to management of the Hudson Valley Farmlink Network.
The intern may also be asked to assist with various other tasks in the New York State office as needed.
This positon is paid hourly and requires the intern to work between 10-18 hours per week during the semester. Position is available summer 2017, fall 2017, and spring 2018. Ability to work multiple semesters highly favored.
